In the opening minutes Stowmarket drove through the centre and a number of missed tackles resulted in the first score. Some excellent runs from the Bury backs of Sam Batterbee, Jack McGaley and Nat Scott put constant pressure on the Stowmarket line. After one darting run from Sam, who was tackled into the middle of the Stowmarket half, a quick ball into Levi Roper supported by the pack of Harry Sommerville and Adam Platt drove a 15 mtr maul for Levi to equalise the scores.
With a quick restart Stowmarket were back on the offensive and again missed tackles through the centre resulted in another Stowmarket score.
In the second half the Bury were immediately on the attack, with driving runs down the wings from Henry Maddever and Adam Platt. With further pressure from William Allington and Levi Roper the Stowmarket defence was under pressure. Finally it gave with a score in the left wing from Henry Maddever.
The story of the day continued with the tackling through the centre with another quick restart, Stowmarket scored their third. However Bury were not disheartened and kept pounding the Stowmarket backs. Harry Sommerville was unlucky not to score as he was pushed over the dead ball line.
A good run by Nat Scott, saw him denied the leveller, as a penalty was awarded for a high tackle on him, just before he was through to score. But in the last dying minutes another good rolling maul from the Bury pack saw them cross and Levi Roper grounded the ball for the equalising try.
