Maintaining the club grounds is a significant undertaking. While we are fortunate to have a dedicated groundsman and a team of volunteers who handle much of the work, some tasks require specialist expertise and equipment.
One such task is clearing the drainage ditches that run around the perimeter of Pitch 4 and across the bridge. Keeping these ditches clear has two important benefits:
Water Harvesting – During the drier months, a clear ditch system provides a reliable water supply for the irrigation pump, helping to keep our pitches in good condition.
Flood Management – In wetter months, clear ditches improve drainage and help prevent flooding on Pitch 4 and around the bridge.
As this is a specialist job, we would greatly value the support of any club member who has the necessary skills or equipment - or who may know someone who does.
If you can help, please contact Andy Herlihy.
Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.
