Bury kicked off this cup semi-final after a long layoff and were quick to get into their stride. The forwards provided good ball off the top of a lineout and Bury should have opened the scoring but were pushed into touch. From the lineout, Woodbridge cleared upfield and Bury countered with intent. A sublime pass putting Jed Robinson clear for the first try, but the conversion was missed.

Bury increased their lead after a number of phases Stephen Herlihy finished well, and he converted himself.
Bury 12-0 Woodbridge
Bury were enjoying their share of possession and after a planned move from a scrum Chris Kent scored, and Herlihy converted.

A turned-over Woodbridge scrum provided Bury with another attacking opportunity that Herlihy finished strongly, but the conversion was missed.

Woodbridge were put under further pressure and failed to clear the danger, from a scrum Ryan Clarke crossed for a well-worked try, and Herlihy converted.

A failed touch kick was neatly gathered by Fin Bonas and a ruthless counterattack was finished by Herlihy to complete a classy hat trick, the conversion was missed.
