Following a weekend of mixed results and a quiet Haberden with only one fixture, the Bury Rugby family can look forward to a busy youth rugby weekend in round 9 of the 2024/25 season.
We have a small selection of rugby this weekend with only one senior team playing as the competitive sides finished block one of the seasons fixtures. However, we have an extraordinary weekend in the youth section this weekend with many exciting fixtures.
Our boys’ U13s, U14s, U15s, and U16s all have exciting fixtures, with all four of the youth boys’ sides travelling to Woodbridge to face off against their respective age grade side. The U16 girls Vixens travel to Norwich to face off against Norwich Wildcats in an exciting fixture. It’s an exciting time for the Vixens, as after their double header weekend at The Haberden they have now secured a sponsor through Modular Screens Ltd.
Youth rugby continues this weekend with the Colts travelling to face Canterbury. They look to start strongly following a few rest weeks after their tournament a few weeks back.

The Men’s 1st XV has a well-deserved rest week after finishing a long first block of fixtures in the National League 2 East after last weekend’s narrow one point defeat away in Guernsey.

The Men’s 4th XV makes up the only senior side with a fixture as they travel to Mersea Island to play against the Mersea Island Rhinos in an exciting fixture. They have named a strong side mixing youth with experience for their away fixture.
A special thanks to their sponsors, Leon Brown, OJ Neil Contracting, BC Landscapes, Robinson Arnold Limited and ECO Cooling for their continued support.
We have yet another big weekend in our Minis section as they have an exciting rugby festival held at Stowmarket RFC. The U7s, 8s, 9s, 11s and 12s all will be making the short travel to compete in the festival. After the huge success of the mini’s festival at The Haberden a few weeks ago this is going to be a great one!
In addition, to the rugby at Bury this weekend, we have two exciting events taking place. First, we kickstart the weekend with the annual fireworks display held at the club today which has sold out on the early bird tickets. However, there is still plenty of tickets to be bought on the entrance gates, so come along and enjoy the wonderful fireworks display.
Secondly, we will be showing the Autumn Nations Series at The Haberden, with a new bar food menu including Loaded Fries, Nachos, Chilli beef baps… and more! The bar will be fully stocked and ready to complement your autumn of rugby.
A relatively quiet weekend at The Haberden rugby wise, but head down to enjoy our fireworks and Autumn Nations Series showing!
