Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club is proud to once again host the annual Munro Cup on Friday 7 August, as we welcome our friends from Thurston Rugby Club for an evening celebrating the life of Mark 'Munro' Williams.

Kick-off is at 6:30pm, with this year's fixture likely taking place on Pitch 4 at The Haberden due to the current pitch conditions.

The Munro Cup has quickly become a special date in the calendar for both clubs. More than just a pre-season fixture, it is an opportunity to remember a much-loved friend who represented both Bury St Edmunds and Thurston with distinction, while bringing together former teammates, current players, family, friends and supporters to celebrate everything that grassroots rugby is about.

As always, the evening promises to be a fantastic occasion, with plenty of familiar faces on both sides and the friendly rivalry that Munro himself would have enjoyed.

Ruraidh Williams is once again organising the Bury St Edmunds squad, with players from across the club coming together to pull on the green and gold.

The Women's section will also be supporting the evening by running a can bar, so there will be plenty of refreshments available throughout the evening.

Whether you knew Munro personally, played alongside him, or simply enjoy a summer evening of rugby with friends, we'd love to see you there.
