Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club have partnered with US SS to further enhance the development pathway options for our young members.

U.S Sports Scholarships (U.S SS) was developed in 2008 by four members of the team who all had bad experiences using companies that were meant to provide the services US SS pride themselves on giving to their student-athletes. Following graduation they created U.S SS with the aim of providing the service and support they wish they had received themselves to other talented male and female athletes with their placement at American colleges and universities. They are former college athletes supporting the next generation.

Today, U.S Sports Scholarships now operates all over the world, with offices in the UK, US, Cyprus, France and the UAE. Their success and organic growth is a direct result of our unrivalled player service – providing the personalised expert support and aftercare they would have wanted when they went through the process of finding a sports scholarship in America.

Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club have partnered with US SS to further enhance the development pathway options for our young members.

Speaking on the partnership Will Affleck, Player and Partnerships Manager at Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club stated: “As a proud Community Club with an outstanding Mini and Youth section, we are always considering how we may improve and enhance our player pathway for the 1st XV players of tomorrow – both on and off the rugby field. Whilst our Elysium is to have players join our senior section at the end of their Mini and Youth journey, we realise that there is more to life at this crucial stage of a young person’s life. To that end, we want to provide as many opportunities as possible for them through their affiliation with our club; whether that be links to colleges and universities, academies or employers.

Our most recent partnership with US SS is an exciting and unique development of these endeavours, so we are delighted to have partnered with this outstanding organisation on this. We are proud to add this offering to our young players and to give them another opportunity to mould their future through the unique, value driven medium of rugby. There is no doubt that the landscape of rugby in the United States is entering an exciting phase and we have partnered with the best to maximise this.

We, of course, hope that many of our youth products return to The Haberden – in some capacity – in the future. But, we know that through opportunities such as this, they will return more rounded individuals with great life experiences to draw upon. So, we welcome this partnership and look forward to developing it for many years to come.”

US SS Managing Director, Liam Barrett, said the following regarding the partnership: “The whole team is so excited to be partnering and working closely with Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club – an organisation that we have admired from afar for a long while now and one that we have been very familiar with the incredible work they do both on and off the field. Bury provides an incredible platform and support system to its talented young rugby players, male and female, that enables them to become the best players possible. For those that also have an interest in the opportunities that America can provide to continue their studies and their playing careers we are delighted to be able to help them with this journey.”
