On a cold and wet February morning Bury St. Edmunds travelled to Ely for their latest match.
Pulling together as a team against the weather and the opponents Bury produced a strong result.
Due to the conditions both teams suffered a few injuries and Bury took the opportunity to try out boys in unfamiliar positions. It was clear that thanks to the training and dedication of the boys and coaches that they were quick to adapt to the circumstances.
By the end of the game Bury had conceded one penalty try but saw the scoreboard littered with Bury names; Hat-tricks from Harvey Williams and Max Derbyshire and one each from Harvey Hempstead, Ruben Surti, Jaden Barry, Paddy Mountford and Joel Clifford.
Special thanks to Fergus Vickery, Jake Garner and Paddy Mountford who each generously volunteered to play a quarter of the match for the opposition.
Let’s hope the weather perks up for the next matches (says she writing this in the snow!!)
