On Sunday Bury St. Edmunds mini rugby entertained two teams, Sudbury and North Walsham.
The first game against Sudbury saw a confident Bury team getting into their stride. With a combination of fast backs and strong forwards they were able to power through Sudbury with 2 tries from Max Derbyshire and one from Harvey Williams the Bury boys looked on strong form. With the majority of the game played in Bury’s favour there was just one try conceded to Sudbury. 3-1
After a break whilst the opposition teams played each other Bury returned to the pitch, fired up and full of confidence.
The match against North Walsham was a more physical game with powerful tackles and determination from both sides. The teamwork from Bury shone through as together they helped to set up the opportunities for tries. With some strong runs the gap was opened for Derbyshire to again try twice whilst Williams added another 2 to his days total. The support of the whole team in both defence and attack meant that Bury was able to hold North Walsham at bay, with just 2 tries conceded. 4-2
