Braintree brought a mixed ability squad and fielded 2 teams, although they had some inexperienced players they had some quick runners and some very solid boys.

Braintree A. In the first game the Wolves played what was to be the stronger of the 2 Braintree teams. In the first half the forwards of Archie, Fred , Adam and Thomas secured the ball easily in the contact area drawing in defenders and with good distribution from Connor allowed Will Cameron to use his pace to score in the corners. Braintree responded with a strong run from their winger as Bury lost the ball forward in contact and a good pick up saw him run in at the corner. However the Wolves picked up their game and this saw Fred receive a good pass from Charlie Temple and drive through three players to score just before the break. In the second half the Wolves seemed to go to sleep for the first 10 mins, Braintree upped their game, tackling lower, rucking better and the Wolves seemed to be a little slow to the contact area. This gave Braintree the upper hand and momentum, which lead to 3 unanswered tries from their speedy winger, before the Wolves started to play rugby again. Some strong tackling and rucking from Archie, Seb and Adam saw the Braintree players being turned over a number of times. Further scores from Seb and Will Cameron secured a fair win.
