After a tense opening Colchester made the first break through. Bury almost responded immediately through a Charlie Upright break but the ball was deemed to have gone dead before being touched down...
Then floodgates then opened and the Colchester backs ran in 5 tries before the first 20 minute break. Thereafter roles were reversed as Josh Bullingham rampaged through the heart of the Colchester defence... It was Colchester’s turn to take a battering as Bury ran in tries through Steffan, Lucas x 2, J Bullingham and with Ryan crashing over from close range. At the end of the second 20 min period Bury had edged in front 36-33.
The third 20 saw Bury make a number of changes which disrupted our pattern of play with Colchester running in further tries before an excellent consolation try again from the flying centre Josh Bullingham, at the final whistle, with the overall fixture finishing up BSE Under 14's 41 - Colchester A 66.
