Beccles came to Bury on Sunday with a well drilled and physically Squad, this resulted in one of the best games of rugby the Bury Boy’s had been involved in yet this season.
The game was played physically and fast with both teams playing expansive rugby, The Bury pack dominated throughout the first half at the set plays but Beccles counter rucking in open play resulted in the possession and corresponding number of attacks being shared. Both teams defended very well at half time there was no score.
The second half started the way the first had finished, but the strength and physicality of the Beccles pack started to show. This resulted in Beccles securing more of the possession, the Bury Boys defended well but eventually there was a breakthrough for Beccles scoring in the corner. The game stayed very finely balanced with Bury playing some attacking Rugby but we didn’t manage to make a break through. Beccles ran in 3 further try’s through there very fast and physical centres who both played an outstanding fixture the final score being Bury 0 – Beccles 20 this sounds a much bigger victory when you look at the score than the actual game was on the pitch, the game was very well contested throughout from both sides and was a great game to watch, well done both teams!
