Bury U14s faced Shelford over 4 x 20 minute quarters in what is always a highly competitive fixture. The first quarter was scoreless with nothing between the two teams some superb defence from both sides. After the break Shelford scored and converted but Bury hit straight back in the corner with a try from Charlie Upright that wasn't converted. Shelford responded with another try not converted, before Josh ' Bully' Bullingham steamed through to score a great try, which was not converted. With the wind at their backs Bury decided to go for a long range penalty which Stuey landed to give Bury the lead. Shelford hit back again though with a well worked try, and followed that with an interception try that was converted. Bury fought back again following a devastating run by Bully who offloaded to Rhys to score to reward his great support work, and Bully converted. As Bury pushed hard at the end they were undone by another interception try. Playing against a squad of 30 was always going to be demanding but the lads put in a spirited display and improved defensive performance.
