Bury eventually came through a tough test against a strong Sudbury team to record a good victory at home. Playing in to the wind the first 10 minutes saw Bury defending their line against sustained Sudbury pressure. Bury defended well managing to weather the storm. The deadlock was broken with good work seeing Josh Bullingham break through to score for Bury. A second try for Bully followed just on the stroke of half time which Stuart Adam converted to bring a tight first half to a close.
The second half saw Bury extend their lead with Charlie Upright going on to score a magnificent hatrick with some aggressive straight running, with Stuart converting one and Bully another. Sudbury scored a well deserved try towards the end with some strong forward play. Bully then rounded the scoring off with his hatrick try. The score line was a bit harsh on Sudbury whose forwards in particular put in a really good shift , but this was a good win for Bury with impressive performances across both the forwards and back line.
