Bury came through a tough examination against a committed home side to record a well deserved win. With the wind in their favour Bury finally made early pressure tell after a quick penalty by Ryan with Stu adding the extras. Then a chip through by Stuart was chased through and touched down by Lucas, with the conversion added by Stu. The home side then struck back with a well worked try but Bury were soon down the other end dominating territory with a number of attacking line outs and some excellent scrummaging from the pack. After some good work from Lucas and Alfie, Ryan slipped down the blindside to score to give Bury a good lead at half time.
After half time Bury kept up the pressure with Ryan scoring his hatrick after great work by Adam HH and big Jack and all the forwards with a pick and go close to the posts with Stu getting the conversion. The home side scored a good try after sustained pressure on the Bury line. Josh Bully then cut through the home defence after a nice switch with Samuel and converted his own try, before Archie atoned for his sin binning by crashing over powerfully after a quick tap penalty. It was a good effort by the forwards in the second half with strong running by Sam H and John with a lovely dummy, and Kane having a good run at flanker. There were good performances from the backs with Charlie getting man of the match for some great cover tackles and strong running. Thank you to SW for hosting a great game of rugby, which was very well reffed.
